MEET WING CHOW
NEW LEADERSHIP FOR IRVINE
My family have lived in Irvine since 1985. We have been enjoying our life here and it is time for me to give back to the community.
My daughter and son graduated from University H. S. and H. S., respectively. Both were Student Body Presidents in High School and Elementary School. The trail of leadership runs high as evidenced in my family.
I received my education in USA, first majored in communication at Moody Bible Institute and then a bachelor's degree in business and a master's degree in accounting from Roosevelt University and finally Certified Public Accountant Certificate from University of Illinois, at Urbana-Champaign. I was a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants from 1984 until recently that I became inactive to concentrate on the election campaign for the office of the Mayor of Irvine.
I was audit manager for FDIC during the conservatorship of American Diversified Savings Bank as well as the acting Chief Financial Officer for Unified Savings Bank.
During my career, I was the Audit Director for Angeles Corporation and the Corporate Controller for Pick Up Stix for five years, contributing to the business growth of Irvine. Additionally, I was a visiting professor at Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, teaching managerial accounting in English.
Recently, I served with 20 other volunteers on Father's Day in 2023 at Lakeview Senior Center. I sang a song "Love Me Tender" during lunch. My wife, Minna Chow painting, has four art exhibitions in the last two years, first at John Wayne Airport in February and March 2022 as well as in October 2023. We sold a number of her paintings at one exhibitions and donated the money to the City of Irvine.
My goal is to make Irvine a 3HHH city, meaning to be a happy, healthy and heavenly city and soar like an eagle as my name Wing portrays, to reach new heights in accomplishments for the City of Irvine. Thank you for your support.
